Development and evaluation of new HIV, Zika and Chikungunya virus vaccine candidates; effect of sleep deprivation on immunity
Summary
Infections caused by Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Zika (ZIKV) and Chikungunya (CHIKV) are a serious public health problem. Despite advances in the knowledge of the virus pathogenesis, there is no effective prophylactic vaccine against the infections caused by these viruses. Our research is aimed at identifying potential HIV, ZIKV and CHIKV target antigens, production of vaccine formulations and pre-clinical immunogenicity assessment studies.
We also focus our studies on the effect of REM sleep deprivation (Rapid Eye Movement) on immunity.
